About the Author-
Some of Allan Morey's favorite childhood memories are from the time he spent on a farm in Wisconsin. Everyday he saw cows, chickens, and sheep. He even had a pet pig named Pete. He developed a great appreciation of animals, big and small. Allan currently lives in St Paul with his family and dog, Ty, who keeps him company while he writes children's books.

Gr 1-3-This is a solid selection for those interested in small breed dogs. Each title highlights the unique physical characteristics and temperament of the individual breed and provides info about life span, grooming, and training. The images and design are attractive, and the short, simple sentences keep things moving and interesting. After reading this series, students will have all the know-how they need to convince their caregivers that it's time for a dog-with the knowledge of what's right for their family, too.

July 1, 2017 These cheery volumes provide brief information about the title "tiny dogs," including appearance, size, temperament, and life span. The texts, while easy to read, can be vague or repetitive (e.g., Pomeranians and Boston terriers are both "loving pets"; Yorkies are "sweet, loyal pets").
