عن المؤلف
كريستوفر دارلينجتون مورلي (1890-1957) كان صحفيًّا وروائيًّا وكاتب مقالات وشاعرًا أمريكيًّا. والِده عالِم رياضيات، ووالدته موسيقية وشاعرة، اكتسب منها حبه للأدب. بدأ الكتابة بينما كان لا يزال في الكلية، وعمل على تحرير مجلة الكلية، وأسهم فيها بمقالات. وعقب تخرجه في جامعة أكسفورد، بدأ مسيرته الأدبية في دار نشر دابلداي، حيث عمل في مجال الدعاية وقراءة المخطوطات التي ترِد إلى الدار.
حقق مورلي النجاح في العديد من المجالات على مر السنين، واكتسب شعبية بفضل أعمدته الأدبية في صحيفة «نيويورك إيفيننج بوست» ومجلة «ذا ساترداي ريفيو أوف ليترتشر»، إلى جانب مجموعات من المقالات والأعمدة المتنوعة. ألَّف مورلي أكثر من 100 رواية وكتاب مقالات ومجلدات شعرية، وما زال مشهورًا حتى اليوم بسبب روايته الجميلة «المكتبة المتنقلة»، التي صدرت في عام 1917، والتي لا تزال تُطبع إلى يومنا هذا وتسعِد العديد من القراء.

إيناس التركي؛ مترجمة مصرية، وُلدت في القاهرة عام 1973. تخرجت في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها في كلية الآداب، جامعة عين شمس. ترجمت لدار الكرمة رواية «جمعية جيرنزي للأدب وفطيرة قشر البطاطس» لماري آن شيفر وآني باروز، ورواية «خلف هذه الأبواب» لروث وير، وكتاب «عندما تحب النساء أكثر مما ينبغي: أن تعيشي في انتظار أن يتغير» لروبين نورود.
